Terraform Labs co-founder, Do Kwon, has requested the United States District Courtroom to postpone his demo date till March, citing extradition difficulties in Montenegro as the motive for trying to get the delay.

In a letter dated January 11 resolved to U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff, Kwon’s authorized workforce emphasized his desire in attending the trial individually, which is scheduled for January 29. Nevertheless, they experienced predicted that Kwon would have already been permitted to return to the U.S. by now:

“Mr. Kwon wishes to show up at his trial. Counsel had hoped the extradition proceedings in Montenegro would continue a lot more rapidly than they have.”

In February 2023, the SEC filed fraud fees from Kwon, accusing him of having a function in orchestrating a multi-billion dollar crypto-securities fraud.

In December 2023, Cointelegraph claimed that the Appellate Court of Montenegro dominated to annul the final decision of the Significant Court of Podgorica approving Kwon’s extradition to both the U.S. or South Korea.

This follows experiences only a week earlier that US and South Korea authorities ended up requesting that Kwon be held for an extra two months subsequent the summary of his sentence.
