Microsoft Hires Former OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to Head ‘Superior AI Analysis Group’

Microsoft has employed former OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to move up an “superior AI analysis workforce” following his ouster from the AI agency.

Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, introduced the information in a tweet, noting that Altman will be part of its in-house workforce alongside OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman and “colleagues.”

Altman tweeted that, “the mission continues,” following the announcement; Nadella responded that he was “tremendous excited to have you ever be part of as CEO of this new group.”

“We’re going to construct one thing new & it will likely be unimaginable,” Brockman tweeted, including that the group’s preliminary management workforce would include Altman together with Jakub Pachocki, Szymon Sidor and Aleksander Madry.

Altman’s and Brockman’s hiring by Microsoft rounds off a tumultuous weekend for OpenAI, which noticed Brockman give up on Saturday as the corporate was rocked by the information that its board had ousted Altman.
