FTC Investigating OpenAI’s ChatGPT for Possible Consumer Protection Law Violations

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has launched an investigation into OpenAI’s AI-powered chatbot, ChatGPT, to determine if it has violated consumer protection laws. This investigation comes as the FTC recently withdrew its trial against Microsoft’s pending acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
