70% of Japanese firms say candidates’ use of ChatGPT won’t affect hiring process

TOKYO — Some 70% of recruiting staff at private firms in Japan said the desire to hire a candidate would not be affected by the fact they used the ChatGPT chatbot to create their resumes, coversheets and other materials for the screening process, a staffing agency announced on May 25.


Recruitment agency Workport Inc. conducted a survey on 139 human resource officers at companies across the country between May 9 and 16. Altogether, 75.5% said the use of the interactive artificial intelligence software by mid-career hire candidates…
