The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, which will likely debut next year, will feature a new technology borrowed from EV batteries. The company will reportedly use a battery stacking method for its Galaxy phones and tablets, in a bid to increase battery capacity.
Recently, it was rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could be equipped with a GPU that’s much faster than that of the upcoming iPhone 15. The S24 Ultra will debut in 2024, alongside the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Battery Details
According to The Elec, Samsung SDI is teaming up with two Chinese companies to develop a new stacking method for batteries. This method, which stacks the anode and cathode on top of each other, is reportedly already employed by the company for Gen 5 batteries in electric cars.
The new battery tech will allegedly increase the energy density by more than 10 percent, making it more compact. The company has already started a pilot line for the new process at Tianjin in China.
The new battery stacking tech is expected to be employed by the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. This technology will likely be used in other flagship smartphones, tablets, and other electronics devices in the future.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Rumored Features
According to recent rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature significant upgrades over its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The upcoming smartphone will sport a display with a super AMOLED screen, a refresh rate of 144Hz, and a QHD+ resolution.
Additionally, it will be powered by the yet-unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. As for the operating system, the S24 Ultra will ship with One UI 6.0, based on the upcoming Android 14.
When it comes to imaging, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected to sport a 200MP camera with upgraded zoom capabilities. The Galaxy S24 lineup will also get satellite connectivity.
