Prolific tipster Ice universe claims that the Google Pixel 8 Pro’s main camera will feature a Samsung ISOCELL GN2 camera sensor. That’s a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the Pixel 7 Pro, which features a Samsung ISOCELL GN1 camera sensor.

The 1/1.12-inch sensor has a resolution of 50MP and is said to capture clearer photos even in low-light conditions. Additionally, the sensor can click photos with a high dynamic range, thanks to its staggered-HDR technology.

The ISOCELL GN2 sensor is also capable of recording 8K videos at 30fps and 4K videos at 120fps. The sensor records Full HD videos in 480fps for cinematic-looking and slow-motion videos.

Google Pixel 8 Rumored Specs

The Google Pixel 8 Pro will reportedly sport a display with a 6.73-inch QHD+ panel and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 8 series will get screens manufactured by Samsung Display.

The Pixel 8 Pro will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. It will also come with a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus for protection. As for the processor, the Pixel 8 Pro will be equipped with a brand-new Tensor G3 SoC, based on a 4nm process.

The Google Pixel 8 Pro is expected to debut in October this year. Ahead of the launch, the company will reportedly unveil the Pixel 8 series during Google I/O on May 10. Google will also preview the Pixel 7a, the Pixel Fold, and the Pixel tablet at the same event.
