Welcome to your week’s recap. Xiaomi held a big event at which it announced two tablets – the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro, the Xiaomi Band 8, a Sound Move speaker, an 86-inch Mini LED smart EV, but above all was the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra brings four 50MP cameras – a primary with a 1-inch sensor and a variable f/1.9-4.0 aperture, a 75mm zoom camera, a 120mm zoom camera, and an ultrawide shooter. The Ultra has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery with 90W wired, and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi will release the 13 Ultra to the Chinese market in April, and then to markets around the world in the following months.
The iPhone 15 Pro will get a titanium frame, curved glass, and a new Action button on the side. The Pro models will also reportedly get a new dark red colorway. As for the vanilla and Plus iPhone 15, they’ll reportedly get a new cyan and green blend and will get frosted rear glass panels, like the current Pro models.
The Samsung Galaxy A24 is official, even though Samsung never really held an announcement. The phone went live on Samsung Vietnam’s website.
It features a 6.5-inch 90Hz Super AMOLED display, a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. There’s a 50MP main camera, as well as a 5MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro. We still don’t know the price of the Galaxy A24.
The Google Pixel Fold is expected to be announced on May 10. It will cost “upward of $1,700”, which lines up with the previously leaked price of $1,799. To sweeten that, Google will reportedly offer a free Pixel Watch to Pixel Fold buyers, in addition to a trade-in option. According to “internal documents and images”, the Pixel Fold has “the most durable hinge on a foldable”. It will also be marketed as water-resistant, although it’s unclear what standard it will adhere to. The outer screen will be 5.8″, while the inner one opens up to 7.6″.
While on the topic of Google – the Pixel 7a will also be announced on May 10. It will cost $499 and will be available immediately.
