The competition in the clamshell folding market has begun to ramp up with the latest launch of the Vivo X Flip. The Vivo X Flip debuts as the company first flip smartphone and will challenge the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Oppo Find N2 Flip.

So we’ve decided to compare all three clamshell foldable phones to see how they stack up against each other. So without further delays, here’s our full comparison of the Vivo X Flip, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Oppo Find N2 Flip.

The Vivo X Flip price starts at ¥5999 (roughly Rs 71,700) for the 12/256GB SKU, and the 12/512GB variant will cost ¥6699 (roughly Rs 80,000). Vivo hasn’t provided details about the X Flip’s availability outside China yet. The Vivo X Flip is available in Drill Black, Silk Gold, and Ling Purple colours.

The Oppo Find N2 Flip price in India is set at Rs 89,999 for the sole 8GB/256GB variant. The Find N2 Flip comes in Astral Black and Moonlit Purple colour options. At the time of its launch, the Oppo Find N2 Flip feature a starting price of ¥5,999 (roughly Rs 71,200) in China.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 price in India starts from Rs 89,999 for the base 8GB/128GB variant, while the 8GB/256GB model will set you back Rs 94,999. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is available in Bora Purple, Graphite, and Pink Gold colours.

For performance, the Vivo X Flip uses a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Vivo X Flip also packs a 4,400 mAh battery with 44W fast charging support and an adapter in the box for good measure.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, on the other hand, uses the same Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip but is limited to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Z Flip 4 has the smallest battery of the lot, opting for a 3,700 mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging support, although no adapter is provided in the box.

The Oppo Find N2 Flip uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Find N2 Flip packs a 4,300 mAh battery with the same 44W fast charging as Vivo’s flip smartphone, while an adapter is also included in the box.

The Vivo X Flip features a large 3-inch AMOLED cover screen that can be used to open apps, check notifications, used a viewfinder, and more.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ (1080 x 2640 pixels) resolution. Additionally, the LTPO panel features a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and HDR10+ support. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a 1.9-inch cover display with a ton of utility, although it is the smallest in the segment.

The Oppo Find N2 Flip boasts a 6.8-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2520 pixels) resolution with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, the LTPO panel features a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The Find N2 Flip features a large 3.26-inch AMOLED cover screen that can be used to open apps, check notifications, used a viewfinder, and more.

For optics, the Vivo X Flip features a dual-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS and a 12 MP ultrawide shooter. The camera setup here has been co-developed with ZEISS and uses ZEISS T* lens coating. On the front, the Vivo X Flip features a 32 MP selfie camera.

When it comes to the overall build quality, the Vivo X Flip is claimed to have an ultra-thin layer of glass over the screen to make it virtually creaseless. The hinge is also touted to survive over 500,000 folds and unfolds.

The Oppo Find N2 Flip has a plastic back and front and an aluminium frame. Oppo says its phone stays tough after “400,000 folding tests and has better crease control than alternatives.”

Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 features a plastic front and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on the back. The frame of the phone is made from aluminium and the hinge is said to retain nearly 85 percent of its strength after 200,000 folds. Additionally, the Z Flip 4 also has an IPX8 rating for water resistance.
