New Delhi’s Select CityWalk Mall was unusually busy today, as Apple fans flocked to witness the opening of Apple’s second store in India. Some customers may have also wanted to catch a glimpse of Apple CEO Tim Cook, who inaugurated the Saket store at 10am, and proceeded to mingle with a few lucky customers.
Cook also met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, prior to the Saket store launch. He later tweeted that Apple is “committed to growing and investing across the country.”

Just a couple of days prior to the opening of the Apple Saket store in Delhi, Apple had unveiled the BKC store in Mumbai, making it Apple’s first retail store in the country. Here’s how the Apple Saket store compares to its Mumbai counterpart:
Apple Saket Store: All the Details
Apple claims that the Apple Saket store runs on 100 percent renewable energy and is carbon neutral, just like Apple BKC store in Mumbai. The Delhi store has over 70 employees from 18 states across the country and can collectively speak over 15 languages.
The Saket store has a dedicated Apple Pickup station that can be used by customers to collect their Apple product in-store after ordering online. The store houses the latest Apple devices and accessories, including the new iPhone 14 in yellow.
Apple Saket also has a Genius Bar for customers who need hardware and technical support. In addition, the store hosts a “Today at Apple” program that will let Apple fans enjoy free sessions in-store, curated by Apple Creatives.
The daily program will educate customers on a slew of Apple-related topics, ranging from basic how-to lessons to sessions on professional-grade programs. Interested customers can register for their free session on the Apple website.
Apple has always been big on aesthetics, and the Saket store is a reflection of that. The theme of sustainability continues with the store design, as Apple Saket is said to be constructed with materials that are sourced locally.
