The Vivo S17 series is slated to debut in China later this year. Ahead of its purported launch, prolific tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has leaked the key specifications of the upcoming smartphone.
The Vivo S17 series succeeds the S16 series which launched late last year in China. The Vivo S16 lineup was rebadged as the Vivo V27 and launched in India last month. The rebranded version of the new S17 series is expected to arrive in India as the V29 in the next few months.

Vivo S17, Vivo S17 Pro: Rumored Features
The Vivo S17 series will reportedly launch in China this May, with open sales commencing in June, during China’s 618 shopping festival. The S17 lineup will comprise the Vivo S17e bearing model number V2285A, the Vivo S17 with model number V2283A, and the Vivo S17 Pro with model number V2284A.
According to the Chinese tipster DCS, the Vivo S17 will be powered by a Snapdragon 778G SoC (SM7325), while the Vivo S17 Pro will feature the Dimensity 8200 processor.
As for the display, both the Vivo S17 and S17 Pro will sport a 1.5K resolution display supplied by BOE. The tipster adds that the panel will feature curved edges. However, he did not divulge the exact size of the display.
According to the report, both smartphones will be equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX766V main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) support. It could be accompanied by a 12MP telephoto lens with a Sony IMX663 sensor. The phone could also include an ultra-wide lens.
While there was no mention of the battery capacity, the Vivo S17 will reportedly support 80W fast charging. According to previous reports, the base model of the S17 series could come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It could come in 12GB RAM and 256GB storage options as well.
Meanwhile, the Vivo S17 Pro may get up to 16GB RAM. All models in the Vivo S17 series will reportedly support virtual RAM for extra storage. The S17 lineup will debut in the third quarter of this year, so we can expect more details to emerge as the launch date nears.
