Pixel 7a price in India leaked as Google begins distributing shipments to retailers

Google is hosting its major I/O 2023 event next month. While Google I/O will focus on the many software developments by the search giant, we can also expect to see the Pixel 7a, a Pixel tablet, and a new pair of Pixel-branded TWS earbuds. Google will also reveal details of its flagship Pixel 8 series.

However, our focus in this report is on the more affordable Pixel 7a. According to tipster SnooyTech, the Google Pixel 7a is expected to arrive in retail stores in the next 14 days. Moreover, another tipster Debayan Roy, recently leaked that the Google Pixel 7a price in India will start from under Rs 40,000, which is lower than the Pixel 6a’s launch price in India.

It is worth noting that Google I/O 2023 will take place on May 10, which is less than a month away. So it would make sense for Google to prepare for the Pixel 7a launch by shipping devices out to retailers. The tipster also noted that the Pixel 7a won’t be offered in a Jade colour option.

Additionally, the long-rumoured Pixel Fold might not be unveiled at Google I/O 2023, although the tipster didn’t rule it out in the future. Moreover, Indian customers might have to wait a while before seeing the Pixel 7a, considering the Pixel 6a took over two months to hit Indian shores after its release at Google I/O 2022.

Google Pixel 7a Specifications (Expected)

The Pixel 7a is expected to be powered by the same flagship Tensor G2 chip used on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Moreover, the phone will sport a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, which is an upgrade from the 60Hz on the Pixel 6a. The Pixel 7a will run on stock Android 13 out of the box.

Pixel 7a is set to arrive at retail-stores within the next 14 days, so ready to launch @Google #IO2023. No new signs of the Pixel Fold (yet?).

And no, there is no “Jade” colour of the Pixel 7a, different to recent reports.

For optics, Google could equip the Pixel 7a with a dual-camera setup, which is expected to include a 64 MP Sony IMX787 primary sensor and a 12 MP ultrawide lens. On the front, Google’s budget Pixel will opt for a 10.8 MP selfie camera. While there’s no information about battery life, the Pixel 7a is expected to support wireless charging.
