Oppo A1 5G Launched: Mid-Range Android Smartphone With 120Hz FHD+ Display, SD695 SoC

Oppo launched the Oppo A1 Pro 5G smartphone last year. Now the brand has launched the Oppo A1 5G. Although both smartphones are 5G enabled, the base variant of the A1 series has some strategic compromises to cut down on costs.

As the name suggests, the Oppo A1 5G is a watered-down variant of the Oppo A1 Pro 5G. Instead of a curved display, the non-Pro model features a flat display and has a 50MP primary rear camera instead of the 108MP found on the Pro model. Oppo A1 5G Specifications and Features

The Oppo A1 5G features a 6.71-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 2400 × 1080 pixels resolution, 391PPI pixel density, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The 1080p screen has a peak brightness of 680nits. A centered punch-hole notch on the top houses the 8MP front-facing camera.

An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC powers the Oppo A1 5G. The mid-range chipset has an Adreno 619 GPU. The smartphone ships with 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 internal storage.

The Oppo A1 5G comes has a dual camera setup on the back, comprising a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture. It is accompanied by a 2MP mono sensor and an LED flash. The smartphone has an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies, face unlock, and video calls.

Oppo has embedded a 5000mAh battery inside the Oppo A1 5G, which supports 67W wired SuperVOOC fast charging over a USB Type-C charging and data transfer port.

The Oppo A1 5G has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It features a stereo speaker setup and a 3.5mm audio jack as well. The Oppo smartphone runs ColorOS 13, which is based on Android 13.

Some of the notable hardware and connectivity features of the Oppo A1 5G include Dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou. The smartphone weighs 193 grams and measures 165.6 × 76.1 × 8.25mm.

Oppo A1 5G Launch, Price, and Availability

Oppo has launched the Oppo A1 5G in China. The smartphone is available in three color options: Ocean Blue, Sandstone Black, and Caberia Orange

The Oppo A1 5G has a single variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Oppo is asking RMB 1999 (approx. ₹23,900) for the same. The brand hasn’t confirmed if the Oppo A1 5G will launch outside China.

Incidentally, the Oppo A1 Pro 5G hasn’t been launched outside China. Some rumors suggest Oppo could launch both smartphones simultaneously in a few international markets, including India, in the next few months.
