Apple has now officially announced that it is set to open it’s first ever retail store in India. Called ‘Apple BKC’, the store in Mumbai will be the retail giant’s first ever official store in the country. It’ll open in Mumbai’s Jio World Drive mall, located at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), which is where the nomenclature comes from.
Apple revealed the colourful banner that says “Hello Mumbai” and it’s official website also updated information about this new launch. For more details about this new store, read on.
Apple BKC to be Apple’s First Retail Store in India
Apple’s official website when announcing the launch put out a statement that read, “Hello Mumbai. We are getting ready to welcome you aboard our first store in India. And raring to see where your creativity takes you at Apple BKC.”
The design of the store is reportedly inspired by the “kaali peeli” taxi art, that Mumbai is popularly known for. In a statement, Apple also added, “Apple BKC creative includes colourful interpretations of the decals combined with many Apple products and services that will be available for our customers to discover.”
On the official website, users can also now download the new Apple BKC wallpaper, designed uniquely for this launch as well as listen to “sounds of Mumbai” on a specially curated playlist on Apple Music.
The store is set to open later on in the month. The tech giant is also expected to open a second store in New Delhi, at a later point. Rumours state that the Delhi store will open near Select Citywalk Mall in Saket.
Exchange Old Products For Credit at Apple BKC
According to the website, customers can even exchange their old Apple products for credits towards new purchases at the store. The website reads, “Exchange iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Mac at the Apple Store for credit towards your next purchase.”
One can also place an order online, and pick it up from the official store. Additionally, customers will have the option to shop one-on-one with a specialist at the store. Customers can also use Apple Store Gift Cards to make purchases at the store.
